A project that is moving forward at an indeterminate pace, but mainly a repository of some things that I have had to do/implement, that I don't want to forget and that could be useful to someone else someday, somewhere. And also a cover letter. And some experiments and other things that are of interest to me.
As for the rest, it is under construction while I move old things or content that I never finished putting together to this place.
And who am I?
A human who likes programming and statistics applied to data, of all types, colors and flavors. In the old days they used to say I was a bit of a nerd, but it seems that this is no longer in use and on the contrary, it seems to be in fashion.
I was born in the area of planet Earth known as Chile, specifically Santiago. I mention this not out of chauvinism, but mainly in case I miss some idiom that characterizes people from this corner of the world.
Fan of data.table in R, I don't like tydiverse (although it has very good packages), but I don't fight for it anymore. In the last few years Python has been at the forefront of almost all my development in a slow, more steady (and I think no return) migration. I know there are faster and more efficient languages than both, but you have to set certain limits. Also during the last years DuckDB has stolen my brain and heart, if you haven't tried it, I recommend it.
I am an Agricultural Engineer by training, with a master's degree in Natural Resources and in Statistics, all from PUC (or UC as they call it now). As I was once told, a PUC kid from top to bottom (due to life, not by a conscious decision).
Music is what I am most passionate about. Soccer is not my passion, but I like it (or liked it). Anime I don't watch much, but I also like it (I accept recommendations).
